Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is due to land on 23 October 2026, but the multiplayer crowd will get its first proper look much earlier. What a pre-order actually gets you

There are two main choices. The Standard Edition costs $69.99 and includes the full game plus Early Access Beta entry. The Vault Edition is priced at $99.99, although eligible returning players may be offered a $89.99 loyalty price. Digital pre-orders are the easy option: buy through your console or PC storefront and your account should be registered automatically. No code to chase down, no separate sign-up. Physical copies can still get you in, but you'll need to redeem the retailer code first.

More than a multiplayer trial

The beta isn't the only reason some players will pre-order. Digital buyers can start the campaign on 16 October, a full week ahead of the worldwide release. That's handy if you'd rather finish the story before multiplayer takes over your evenings. Pre-orders also unlock the Hunter Killer Operator Skin and the Gilded Pearl Camo Pack straight away. These items can be used in Black Ops 7 and Warzone before Modern Warfare 4 arrives, then they'll carry over when the new game launches.

Redeeming a retailer code

If you receive a 13-character code from a shop or a giveaway, head to callofduty.com/betaredeem and sign in with your Activision account. Enter the code, choose your platform and select your region. Keep those details accurate, especially if you play across more than one system. Once it's confirmed, you're registered and can download the client when access opens.
